Activity 1

Activity 1:  Development
1. It is anything that helps a country, city, technology or anything become more developed and refined and/or helps its infrastructure improve.
2. Health Services, Education, Electricity, Running Water and Crime Levels.
3.

Developed
Less-Developed
Many World Class Hospitals
High Crime Levels
Low Crime Level compared to other less developed countries
10 or more % of houses don’t have running water

4. LEDC: Less Economically Developed Country
MEDC: More Economically Developed country
5. It is because it is a lot more calculated and takes into account more than one indicator therefore it is a lot more likely to be correct. It also focuses on how people are living, and this is one of the main things that will determine whether a country is developed or not.
5.1.       Yes there is some overlap
5.2.      If your HDI is very low, this means that you will probably not have access to basic human needs or hosptals, doctors etc.
5.3.       The less people you have in a country, the less money you can make. If lots of babies die, this means there are very few health facilities. Also, if lots of babies are dying, this generally means that the country does not have electricity or running water and also it may mean that the people are uneducated.
5.4.      It is when you only farm to support your own families.
5.5.      Education
5.6.       It is development that will last and carry on going.
